For most of his life, Tony Pirani knew he was going to become an attorney. Tony focuses his practice on criminal law. He also works on various areas of civil practice. These include car wrecks, slip and falls, product liability and wrongful death claims.
Tony grew up in Helena-West Helena, AR. He attended Arkansas School for Mathematics and Science in Hot Springs and graduated from Central High School in Helena. Afterward, Tony went to Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA. There he received a bachelor of special studies. He double majored in politics and philosophy. He minored in economics and business. He then went to the Iowa College of Law where he earned his J.D. in 2005. Tony is a past professor of Trial Advocacy and currently coaches the TYLA Traveling Trial Team.
At a young age, Tony’s family encouraged him to consider law school. He said that he entered the University of Iowa to earn both a J.D. and a Masters of Business Administration degree. It was there that he fell in love with the law and it became the focus of his studies.
Tony spent several years as a public defender. He also worked as an advocate within the Arkansas of Criminal Defense Lawyers. “I have a strong belief in fighting to help those who may not be able to help themselves. I like fighting for underdogs.
Tony is one of only a few attorneys in Arkansas certified to serve as lead counsel on capital murder death penalty cases.
Tony is currently engaged and has two children. A son in college and a daughter in middle school. He enjoys taking his children on excursions and loves to hike, camp, fish, hunt and go spelunking.
