Bill Horton Selected Among Nation’s Best Attorneys

June 28th, 2017 Firm News

Bill Horton, Associate Attorney at Nolan Caddell Reynolds was recently named one of this year’s Super Lawyers by superlawyers.com.  This is only Horton’s second year of eligibility, and it comes after a string of strong settlements and other professional recognitions.

“I have made the Super Lawyers ‘Rising Star’ list a few times, but this is my first full nomination,” said Horton.  “I was really shocked and pleased.”

The “Super Lawyer” title is only given to select attorneys across the country who are over forty.  To be considered, an attorney must be nominated anonymously by a managing partner at their firm, a peer, an independent third party or someone on the Super Lawyers research team. Once nominated, an attorney is evaluated based on Super Lawyers’ rigorous checklist of qualifiers, including:

  • Experience
  • Honors & Awards
  • Verdicts & Settlements
  • Pro Bono & Community Service
  • Other Outstanding Achievements
  • As well as seven other criteria.

If an attorney scores well enough against the checklist they are added to the “Blue Ribbon Panel.”  Panelists then judge each other in a Super Lawyer peer evaluation.  In the end, no more than 5% of attorneys nominated will be selected for “Super Lawyer” status. Selected lawyers are featured in Super Lawyers magazine, which is distributed to firms and law schools throughout the country.

“The peer evaluation means a lot, as does the fact that there is no money involved.  They are an independent organization doing independent research.  So if you’re named a Super Lawyer you know you got it on your own merit.  It’s very humbling.”

Over the last year, Bill has been key in several landmark cases in Arkansas, as well as being recognized in the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.  “I’ve had some big wins recently; and some big settlements.  I think this nomination is really coming on the heels of those cases.”

After graduating from the University of Arkansas Law School, Bill opened a law office in Van Buren. “When I got my first personal injury case, I recognized myself in those people – down on their luck, maybe living paycheck to paycheck. That’s how I grew up. I love fighting for them.”

Bill joined Nolan Caddell Reynolds in 2003.  He enjoys the support and autonomy he receives from the senior partners.

“I like to find the weird areas in the law, and explore them. I dig into things other attorneys might not think of. I’ve won a few cases, and earned quite a bit of trust with Nolan Caddell Reynolds.  They let me fight the cases I want, so I couldn’t be happier.”

Nolan Caddell Reynolds has served Northwest Arkansas for over thirty years.  They have offices in Fort Smith, Rogers and Fayetteville.

Typically I don’t leave much feedback for services rendered, however, in this particular case I think everyone needs to know about my experience with Caddell Reynolds. I have used various attorneys throughout my adulthood for various reasons. Recently I retained an attorney, Joel Hargis, from this firm. If anybody is just satisfied with meeting expectations you need to consider this firm for exceeding expectations. This attorney and his staff far exceeded any expectations I had at the onset. Tammy was amazing in making me feel comfortable with the various entries and documentation needed. Mandy goes above and beyond in being responsive to questions and needs. An example which has never happened to me before with any law firm, was I sent an email late Saturday night requesting an appointment and information and on Sunday I got a response back. What law firm does that? Never in my experience has that ever happened to me. Joel is absolutely amazing. He doesn’t circumvent the law he explains the law that any novice can understand. He left no doubt in my mind of his knowledge, his experience, his attention to detail, and his overall diligence in making sure that I was going to be represented in a manner that my confidence level in my particular case went up 150%. I very much recommend this law firm and if the rest of their legal team is as good as the one I retained within this firm they will go far in servicing any client that needs representation. Amazing and astounding don’t really define or describe how I feel. One word comes to mind, indescribable!
